Mentor Illinois Workers: Our Contract is Ratified!

Fellow Mentor Illinois workers, we have won a Contract!

Under the new agreement, we secured:

Raises

DSPs at IL Mentor will have received at least $1.85 in wage increases over the last year if this Tentative Agreement is ratified!

Business Expenses Provisions requires the Company to reimburse employees for mileage and all expenses or losses incurred when using a personal vehicle for Company business.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

Full-time Employees with less than 1 year seniority will receive 40 hours PTO, with 1 to 5 years seniority will receive 80 hours PTO, with 5 years or more seniority will receive 120 hours PTO.

Part-time Employees: We secured new language to help part-time employees transition to full-time status if they desire.  

Real Job Protections

  • Grievance procedure for resolving all disputes between employees and the Company, such as discipline, discharge, or pay disputes, and an arbitration process through a neutral, third-party decision-maker if we are unable to reach a settlement through the grievance procedure steps.
  • An article guaranteeing No Discrimination by the Employer including a Dignity & Respect clause.
  • Seniority rights so that your experience and commitment are valued.

Consistent scheduling system based on Seniority that will apply across the entire state.

An Opportunity to Win more in the Future

Duration: Either side can also request to renegotiate the whole contract after a calendar year.

As your SEIU Healthcare DSP Bargaining Committee, we believe that this is an agreement that improves our wages, provides strong job protections, and builds a foundation for us to win even more in the future.
