Vote on New TA With FHS!
Update 5/9/22: Last week Last week members overwhelmingly voted to approve of our new contract with Family Home Services (FHS)! This new rate will be retroactive to November 1st, 2021! The retro pay should have been on your May 6th paycheck and your raise will be on the June 3rd paycheck.
Congratulations! We have reached a Tentative Agreement with your employer Family Home Services (FHS) regarding our raises that we won last year through the state of Illinois for homemakers caring for seniors! Each year we have fought to ensure homecare jobs are not just minimum wage jobs. The raises we recently negotiated once again keep FHS workers well above the $15/hr Chicago minimum wage and secures higher raises for more senior workers!
In addition to winning higher raises for more senior workers, we also pushed the wage cap to 18 years! Just two years ago, wages were capped at 6 years which meant that you stopped getting raises after 6 years. Because we have a union, we have pushed the wage cap and now more workers with seniority are rewarded instead of seeing their wages frozen!
Therefore, we recommend you VOTE YES to approve your raises so they can be implemented as soon as possible. To vote, call 866-933-7348 [press #3 to cast your vote] between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. CST, Wednesday, May 4th through Thursday, May 5th. The retro pay will be on your May 6th paycheck and your raise on the June 3rd paycheck.
Your bargaining Team:
I recommend workers vote yes, because if they’re like me, I need all financial help I can get. Plus, this Union is working hard for us and I for one am very appreciative. Everything is increasing, gas, grocery, and utilities so I need the increase in salary to help me survive!

I voted yes because it will benefit our jobs and the way we do it and this is a step in the right direction for all the work we do. This salary increase is a huge help with the cost of living also increasing. Thanks again for all that you do to help us and may God continue blessing our SEIU family.
