ResCare/Brightsprings DSP Workers Win Higher Starting Rates and Raises for Every Worker
ResCare/Brightsprings DSP workers recently celebrated a big victory out of legislative session that provided an $0.80 raise this year and another $.40 raise starting January 1, 2021.
Fresh off of that win, workers also just secured a higher starting rate for DSPs effective Monday, September 14, 2020 and seniority increases effective September 1, 2020.
- The starting wage rate for DSPs hired September 14, 2020 or after will be $11.00.
- DSPs with a seniority date in 2020 before September 14, 2020 will receive a $.25 increase, effective September 1, 2020.
- DSPs with a seniority date of 2018 or 2019 will receive a $.30 increase, effective September 1, 2020.
- DSPs with a seniority date of 2017 or earlier will receive a $.35 increase, effective September 1, 2020.
These new raises will be reflected on paychecks on Friday, September 25.
“I’ve been at ResCare for two years and this year we’ve won the biggest raises we’ve seen in those two years. Having our union is how we win and get things done, and it takes all of us getting involved so that’s why I stepped up. Our jobs are hard and we rarely get praise or a ‘thank you,’ but these raises go a long way in acknowledging the important work we do.”
