SEIU Missouri/Kansas State Council Endorses Treasurer Tishaura Jones in August Democratic Primary

Progressive labor union representing 2,500 St. Louis working families will get out the vote for Treasurer Jones this summer

ST. LOUIS – The SEIU Missouri/Kansas State Council today announced its endorsement of Treasurer Tishaura Jones in the August Democratic primary. The SEIU Missouri State Council represents more than 2,500 janitors, healthcare and homecare workers, nursing home workers, adjunct faculty, state workers and more in St. Louis.

“Time after time, Treasurer Jones has stood with working families fighting for a brighter future and a better city. When janitors came together for a strong new contract, she marched alongside us in the streets,” said SEIU janitor William Shead. “Treasurer Jones has used her office to fight for the transformative change our city needs, and SEIU members are coming together – across racial lines and different backgrounds – to support her.”

“St. Louis working families can count Treasurer Jones,” said SEIU healthcare worker Caprice Nevils. “We’re ready to help Treasurer Jones get out the vote in August.”

SEIU’s endorsement of Jones in the Democratic Primary comes on the heels of endorsements from Democracy for America, Rep. Rasheen Aldridge (HD-78), NARAL Missouri and more.
