Raises & Back Pay for Personal Assistants: We Aren’t Backing Down!
Personal Assistants united in our union fought long and hard for our 48-cent raises and we are ready to do whatever it takes to ensure workers get every penny of the more than $26 million in back pay that is owed.
As soon as JB Pritzker was elected we started conversations with him to plan how to get this money released and the raises implemented as quickly as possible. Those conversations continue, and this week our President Greg Kelley is in Springfield meeting with the Pritzker administration to push for the fastest timeline possible and to make sure that the strongest $15 minimum wage bill is passed.
Next week, we’re heading to Springfield so PAs can bring our message directly to the governor.
Mark your calendar for our upcoming membership meetings on Saturday, February 23, and an upcoming Telephone Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, February 28 at 6 p.m. to hear the latest updates on getting our raises and back pay, and to hear what’s next as we gear up for contract bargaining.
We won’t back down until we get our raises and back pay so get involved by attending a membership meeting and then listening in to our Telephone Town Hall Meeting.
