Happy Thanksgiving from Your Union Family!

Thankful for OUR Union
Dear Union Family,  As many of us take this week to celebrate with our families and practice gratitude for each other, I wanted to reach out and wish you and your loved ones a very happy Thanksgiving!

Even in tumultuous times like these, I find opportunities to be thankful for the solidarity we have built across our union. In recent months, we have been stepping up more and more to protect one another. We leaned in to make sure that our communities were fed during the SNAP cuts from the federal government shutdown. We have continued to fight back against threats to Medicaid and healthcare. We have come together to build community through member meetings and events like our Fight Back Fight Forward zine workshop and our Día de los Muertos celebration at our Chicago office. And we have stepped up to fight attacks on our communities, by sharing skills and resources to keep immigrant families safe, using veto petitions to stand up to unfair redistricting efforts in Missouri, and putting our boots on the ground at the historic, nationwide No Kings protests in October.
There is still a long fight ahead of us. As I look towards 2026 and all that it brings—midterm elections, a continued fight for healthcare funding, and upcoming contract fights for thousands of us—I find strength in our solidarity, and comfort in the knowledge that when one of us is under attack, all of us are ready to fight back.

I am thankful that throughout this year, we have shown what is possible when working people come together and fight for what we deserve: dignity, respect, and a better life for ourselves and our families.

I wish you and your loved ones a relaxing and festive Thanksgiving holiday. And if you are working on the holiday, I wish you a chance to care for yourself and recharge after caring for others.

I look forward to us coming back together in December, refreshed and renewed, to prepare for the fights ahead.
In love and solidarity,

Greg Kelley
