Fellow SEIU Healthcare Health Systems members,

If you didn’t join our Tele-Town Hall Thursday night, we hope to have you at the next one in May. VA Workers: Stay Tuned for Autopay Updates!

As you may know, we will be losing access to automatic dues deductions as of Friday, April 25 due to Trump’s executive order. Trump is coming after our dues because he knows that they are funding our fight against his attacks on workers- but we won’t let him stop us from standing up for our fellow members! What does this mean for YOU? If you are a VA member, you will soon have access to a new, easy to use automatic payment process to pay your dues. It’s as simple as paying for a gym subscription, Netflix, or Spotify. Don’t let Trump take away YOUR DECISION to pay union dues.  → CLICK HERE to ensure your contact information is correct- and keep checking back for our automatic dues payment sign up at this link!

Register for Next Week’s VA Meeting!

We are continuing to fight back against the Trump administration. Join Us at Our Upcoming Events!

Join us next Monday, April 21st, for Civil Servants Speak Out! This free public hearing at SEIU HC offices will be put on in partnership with Chicago Jobs with Justice and the Chicago Federation of Labor. Workers will discuss the gutting of the National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) and the dangers that it poses to the health and safety of ALL workers. This event will feature remarks from labor leaders including AFL-CIO Secretary Treasurer Fred Redman and our very own SEIU HC VP and Director of Health Systems Anne Igoe!

Join us on May 1st to celebrate International Workers’ Day by fighting back against Donald Trump’s billionaire takeover and saying NO to his anti-immigrant and anti-worker policies. We will join a coalition of organizations rallying for justice in Union Park. RSVP now to get a spot on the bus heading from SEIU HC offices to join the march!

We’re Rallying for Our Rights Across the State!

Earlier this month, our members traveled down to Springfield to rally for our Hospital Worker Safety bill, funding for community safety net hospitals, and funding for Mt. Sinai’s level 1 trauma center. Learn more by reading our Lobby Day recap!

On April 5, SEIU healthcare members marched in the Chicago “Hands Off” rally alongside over 30,000 people, where we told Trump, Musk, and their administration to keep their hands off the VA, federal workers, Medicaid, and more! These huge numbers show that people all over our country are fighting back against attacks on unions, immigrants, healthcare, and democracy.

Just this past Tuesday, hospital members participated in a Tax Day rally where we stood up to billionaires like Musk and Trump and highlighted the need for big corporations and the wealthy to pay their fair share in taxes! We are demanding that the government invest in our communities, and continue funding vital services like the VA and Medicaid.

Mount Sinai Bargaining Updates

  • Mt. Sinai and Schwab’s bargaining committee election is next week on Wednesday, April 23, from 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM in Mt. Sinai Boardrooms B, C, and D.
  • A second election date for Sodexo’s bargaining committee will be announced shortly.
  • Make sure to fill out a bargaining survey to make sure YOUR priorities are represented at the bargaining table! See your steward or organizer to get a survey.

Thanks for staying updated – we appreciate your commitment and are looking forward to continuing our fight for hospital workers.

In solidarity,

Anne Igoe
