Thanks to the unwavering strength and solidarity of thousands of SEIU Healthcare IL members across the state, we’re thrilled to announce a Tentative Agreement with Zayan/ActiveCare LLC that represents a significant victory for home care workers. This win is the result of your hard work, determination, and commitment to standing strong for fair wages and better working conditions.

Our ability to return to the bargaining table, empowered by the language in our Union contract, allowed us to leverage the state budget increase we fought for into the following improvements.

Here’s what we achieved:

• Pay Increases:
  • All current employees earning less than $20/hour will receive a $1 raise.
  • The minimum wage rate for all new employees will now increase to $18/hour.
• Rewarding Longevity:
  • Workers who reach their 5th year of seniority will now receive an additional $0.25 per hour longevity step, recognizing your dedication and commitment.
• Strengthening Our Union:
  • We secured additional language to help share information about our Union with new hires, ensuring our movement continues to grow and thrive.

This agreement is a testament to what we can accomplish when we stand together and fight for what we deserve. Every phone call, every meeting, every survey and every action you took helped bring us closer to this victory.
