Take Action: Call On Your Chicago Alderperson to Support a Ceasefire in Gaza
SEIU has joined the call for a Ceasefire to save Palestinian and Israeli lives, bring the Israeli hostages home, and demand that our government work with the international community to find a path to long term solutions that will bring peace, safety and justice to the region. As healthcare and child care workers, HCII members are horrified and mourn this kind of violence, whether it’s on the other side of the world, or right here in Chicago with the two high school students that were killed at Innovations High school in broad daylight this past Friday.
Tomorrow the Chicago City Council is scheduled to vote on a resolution calling for a Ceasefire. Will you please take a moment to call your Alderperson and urge them to vote “yes” for a Ceasefire to stop the killing?

When you call, introduce yourself as a resident of their ward and let them know why a ceasefire is urgently needed. If you talk to someone when you call, or you get a voicemail, here is a sample of what you can say in your message:
“I urge (name of your Alderperson) to support Alderman Daniel LaSpata and Chairwoman Rossana Rodriguez Sanchez’s resolution SR2023-0006422 by voting YES when it comes up for a vote at City Council. Thank you.”
