SEIU Healthcare Missouri Members Stand with the Poor People’s Campaign
Too often Missourians are going to bed hungry. Or losing their homes. Or are forced to watch their children suffer without proper healthcare.
On June 11, we stood up for them in Jefferson City. Many of my SEIU Healthcare brothers and sisters joined with the Poor People’s Campaign to demand an end to low wage jobs, lack of housing, and assaults on labor rights.
It was really exciting to be a part of something that unites so many different people — fast food workers, the faith community, union members, and more. We had babies and senior citizens with us demanding a living wage showing how these issues truly impact everyone. Together, we felt the power and excitement that comes from standing up for our communities, and we will not be silenced.
