Association Nursing Home Workers: Check Your Check!
Nursing home workers at the 103 association facilities organized to strike in order to win new wage standards in Illinois. May 1st was the date of our annual wage increase. By now you should have seen this reflected in your pay. Please see your contract book for the full wage article, but to summarize all union members should be placed on the step below according to their years of service. Details on raises are below.

In Chicago
All union members with five or more years seniority earning at/or above the 5-year rate on May 1, 2018 shall receive a 4% wage increase or be placed on the new 5-year rate, whichever is greater. This means that all workers with 5 or more years seniority in Chicago facilities earning at/or above the 5-year rate of Chicago Pay Grade 1 $12.50 or Pay Grade 2 $12.10 shall receive a 4% wage increase or be placed on the top step (5-year rate) seen below, whichever is greater.

In Cook and other counties
All union members with five or more years seniority earning at/or above the 5-year rate on May 1, 2018 shall receive a 4% wage increase or be placed on the new 5-year rate, whichever is greater. This means that all workers with five or more years seniority in Cook or other counties earning at/or above Pay Grade 1 $12.50 or Pay Grade 2 $11.10 shall receive a 4% wage increase or be placed on the top step (5-year rate) seen below, whichever is greater.

Please be sure to check your paychecks to ensure you wage increase is correct. If you see an error, please let your administrator know immediately. If it is not resolved, contact your union steward to file a grievance. Under our contract’s grievance procedure, we have up to 90 days to grieve any errors.
