Quality pay for quality work: SEIU members win contract victories

CHC Nursing Home

  • 2.5 year contract: 2%  increase retroactive to Jan. 1, 2011 with another 1.5% after July 1, 2011 and 2.5% after July 1, 2012.

Golfview Developmental Nursing Home

  • 3-year contract with annual bonus for all employees and employer health and pension fund contributions

Sacred Heart Nursing Home

  • Reopener: $.45 increase retroactive to November 1, 2010 with $.30 increase in November 2011 and 2012; reduced health insurance premiums and improved benefits.

Holiday pay victory for Help At Home workers!

When Illinois Help At Home failed to pay home care aides holiday pay, members took action, filing a class action grievance claiming pay was due for Thanksgiving 2007 and Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 2009.

Our action resulted in Help At Home paying $50,000 in back pay to members who worked those holidays. Congratulations to all Help at Home workers who fought hard to see this victory!
