NEW: Help at Home Illinois Partial PTO Cash-Out Option Now Available!!!
Thanks to your Union contract, eligible Home Care Aides who work for Help at Home IL can now cash out a portion of their UNUSED Paid Time Off (PTO) once per year between December 1 and December 31.
This new benefit took effect on December 1st and applies only to PTO you accrued this year that you have not already used.
Who Is Eligible?
To participate, you must:
- Be an active employee (have received a paycheck in the last 90 days), and
- Have UNUSED PTO remaining from your 2025 accrual.
⚠ Important:
If you have already used all your available PTO up to your annual usage limit, you cannot cash out additional hours. Cashout is only for PTO hours you have accrued but not yet used this year.
Annual PTO Usage Limits
These limits determine whether you have unused PTO available to cash out:

| 10+ years | 75 hours |
How Much PTO Can I Cash Out Right Now?
If you have already used the full amount listed above for your seniority tier, you do not have PTO left to cash out.

Help at Home has shared the following information with the Union to expedite this process:
1. Get the PTO Cashout Form
Forms are available:
- At every branch location (primary distribution method)
- By mail if you call and request one
Each form must be completed and submitted through the branch, so it can be entered correctly into Workday.
2. Submit by December 31st, 2025
Forms must be received at your local branch no later than December 31st, 2025. If mailed, forms postmarked on or before December 31st will be accepted.
3. How You’ll Know It Was Processed
- Caregivers may check with their branch leader to confirm their submission status.
- Once approved, the cash-out amount will appear on your paystub.
When Will I Get My Cash-Out Payment?
- Help at Home will process payouts on a weekly basis.
- If your form is turned in after that week’s payroll has closed, your payment will show up on the next week’s paycheck.
