We are so excited to see you this Friday and Saturday, September 26 & 27 at Tinley Park Convention Center for our 2025 Leadership Assembly! 

Over 400 SEIU HCII member leaders, allies, and staff from Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Kansas will unite for two days of reflection, celebration, solidarity, and skill-building for the work ahead.

Flight and Transportation to Hotel

Your local organizer is your point person for overall transportation coordination. Those who would like to take a bus from our Chicago or Merrillville union office to the hotel should coordinate with your organizer to reserve a spot and confirm departure time. If you are unable to reach your organizer, please contact our SEIU Member Resource Center for assistance at 866-933-7348.

When You Arrive

When you arrive at Tinley Park Convention Center, there will be an SEIU welcoming crew to guide you to our Leadership Assembly registration table.

Meals

The following meals will be provided throughout the Assembly. All meals will be located in Exhibition South at Tinley Park Convention Center.

Lunch on Friday, September 26: 11 AM- 1 PM
Dinner on Friday, September 26: 5:30-7:30 PM 

Breakfast on Saturday, September 27: 7:30-9:30 AM

Lunch on Saturday, September 27: 12-2 PM

What to Pack

Please pack clothes that make you feel comfortable and proud to be an SEIU Healthcare member! We will be indoors for most our Assembly, but you may want to bring along a light sweater or jacket to ensure your comfort throughout the event. Please plan appropriate attire for your commute to and from Chicago as well. In addition, we encourage you to bring clothes and supplies for our Friday Night Best Dressed Contest, and our Saturday action, as detailed below.

Best Dressed Competition

Dust off your boots, grab your hats, and get ready to showcase your style! We’re bringing western flair to the fight for workers’ power! Show your union pride and western style at the 2025 SEIU Leadership Assembly Best Dressed Contest.

⌚When: During the Family Unity Party (Friday night)

📍Where: Main Ballroom – Leadership Assembly Hall

🤠Theme: Western/Country style to go along with the “Boots on the Ground” theme. Show off your cowboy hats, boots, fringe, denim, plaid, and bandanas!

🏆Categories: Best Dressed/Best Overall Attire, Best Cowboy Hat, Best Boots/Western Shoes, and Best Dressed Group.

📝How to Enter:

1. Come dressed in your best western-themed outfit; you are welcome to wear your look for the full day or change at the end of the program before dinner. Keep in mind the audience will be the judges so the more people that see you will increase your chances of winning!

2. Sign up with your table facilitator by 5pm (end of day 1 program.) Your Table facilitator will give you a contestant number if you are participating in the contests.

3. Strut your stuff on stage during the contest showcase! This is your moment to model off your attire in front of your union family.

🥇Prizes: Winners will receive special recognition, fun prizes, and bragging rights until the next assembly!

Saturday Action

On Saturday morning, our leaders will be taking part in a planned action to build our strength and get a chance to practice our fight back, fight forward work. To prepare for this action, please make sure that you bring comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and a phone charger.

¡Nos emociona mucho verte este viernes y sábado, 26 y 27 de septiembre, en el Tinley Park Convention Center para nuestra Asamblea de Liderazgo 2025! 

Más de 400 líderes, aliados y personal de SEIU HCII de Illinois, Indiana, Misuri y Kansas se reunirán durante dos días de reflexión, celebración, solidaridad y desarrollo de habilidades para el trabajo futuro.

Vuelo y transporte al hotel 

Su organizador local es su persona de contacto para la coordinación general del transporte. Quienes deseen tomar un autobús desde nuestra oficina sindical en Chicago o Merrillville hasta el hotel deben coordinar con su organizador para reservar un lugar y confirmar la hora de salida. Si no puede comunicarse con su organizador, comuníquese con nuestro Centro de Recursos para Miembros de SEIU al 866-933-7348. 

A su llegada 

Al llegar al Centro de Convenciones Tinley Park, un equipo de bienvenida de SEIU lo guiará a la mesa de registro de la Asamblea de Liderazgo. 

Comidas 

Las siguientes comidas se proporcionarán durante toda la Asamblea. Todas las comidas se servirán en Exhibition South, en Tinley Park Convention Center.

Almuerzo del viernes 26 de septiembre: 11:00 a 13:00  

Cena del viernes 26 de septiembre: 17:30 a 19:30 

Desayuno del sábado 27 de septiembre: 7:30 a 9:30

Qué empacar 

¡Por favor, prepárese con ropa cómoda y que los haga sentirse orgullosos de ser miembros de SEIU Healthcare! Estaremos llevando a cabo nuestro programa en el interior durante la mayor parte de nuestra Asamblea, pero les recomendamos traer un suéter o chaqueta ligera para garantizar su comodidad durante todo el evento. También les recomendamos traer ropa adecuada para su viaje de ida y vuelta a Chicago. Además, los animamos a traer ropa y accesorios para nuestro Concurso de Mejor Vestida(o) del viernes por la noche y para nuestra actividad del sábado, como se detalla a continuación.

Concurso de Mejor Vestimenta(o) 

¡Desempolva tus botas, ponte el sombrero y prepárate para lucir tu estilo! ¡Llevamos el estilo del oeste a la lucha por el poder de los trabajadores! Demuestra tu orgullo sindical y estilo del oeste en el Concurso de Mejor Vestimenta(o) de la Asamblea de Liderazgo de SEIU 2025. 

⌚Cuándo: Durante la Fiesta de Unidad Familiar (viernes por la noche) 

📍Dónde: Salón Principal – Salón de la Asamblea de Liderazgo 

🤠Tema: Estilo del oeste/campestre, a juego con la temática “Manos a la Obra (Boots on the Ground)”. ¡Luce tus sombreros, botas, flecos, vaqueros, cuadros y bandanas de vaquero! 

🏆Categorías: Mejor Vestimenta(o) General, Mejor Sombrero de Vaquero(a), Mejores Botas/Zapatos del Oeste y Grupo Mejor Vestido(a). 

📝Cómo participar: 

1. Ven con tu mejor atuendo de temática del oeste; puedes usarlo durante todo el día o cambiarte al final del programa antes de la cena. Recuerda que el público será el jurado, así que cuantas más personas te vean, más posibilidades tendrás de ganar.

2. Regístrate con tu moderador de mesa antes de las 5 p. m. (final del programa del día 1). Tu moderador de mesa te dará un número de concursante si participas en los concursos.

3. ¡Luce tu estilo en el escenario durante la presentación del concurso! Este es tu momento para lucir tu atuendo frente a tu familia sindical.

🥇Premios: ¡Los ganadores recibirán un reconocimiento especial, premios divertidos y el derecho de presumir hasta la próxima asamblea! 

Acción del Sábado 

El sábado por la mañana, nuestros líderes participarán en una acción planificada para fortalecernos y tener la oportunidad de practicar nuestro trabajo de lucha y avance. Para prepararse para esta acción, por favor, asegúrense de traer zapatos cómodos y protector solar.
